Originally founded in 2007 as Dioneth, and evolving into BIQE in 2017, we bring over 15 years of experience in digital preservation and intelligent text recognition.

The beginning

Founded as Dioneth in 2007, our story began with a mission to improve the image quality of scanned theological works. Frustrated by the poor legibility of historical texts, our founder developed custom software to clean and enhance these valuable documents — laying the groundwork for smarter digitisation tools.

Expanding the vision

What started as a personal project quickly gained traction with libraries, archives, and universities. Over the next decade, Dioneth evolved into a trusted name in document enhancement, developing specialized software that addressed common pain points in large-scale digitisation projects.

Becoming BIQE

In 2017, Dioneth officially became BIQE, signaling a new phase focused on intelligent document processing, OCR, and HTR. With a broader vision and growing client base, we began offering modular software products tailored to the unique needs of professional digitisation workflows.
